Ag/Enviro Awareness Instructions for Presenters
Spring, 2013 Ag/Enviro Awareness Day -
We appreciate your helping us with this educational morning for students, and below we have tried to provide more information about the day.
Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. Students will begin arriving at 9:00 and will stay until 1:00 p.m.
If you are in the Arboretum it may be cool, but can get hot as the day progresses. There will be a lot of walking, so please dress appropriately.
Based on previous events, we have found that it is more efficient for two classes to move as one group. You may see 36 to 40 children each time.
Format of Program
Stations will be in the Arboretum, the NESPAL Building, and outside the Bio/Ag Engineering Bldg. Each station will last 15-20 minutes, and classes will move at their leisure visiting the stations; there will be no announced time to move so please be aware of your time. As soon as a school arrives, they will be allowed to start if it’s 9:00.
Presentations should be geared to the Georgia Performance Standards, whenever possible. Standards for all fourth grade subject matter can be found here.
Please check the list of stations on this website as well as the map to see where you will be located. Directions to our campus and parking instructions are also on this website.
Rainy Day Schedule
If it rains, we will cancel the Field Study Day. There is no alternate date.
There will be port-a-potties in the Arboretum. Restrooms are located in the Entomology, Vidalia Onion Lab, Facilities, Management, & Operations, and NESPAL Buildings. NESPAL has the most restrooms.
We are sincerely appreciative of the time you have invested in helping us provide this opportunity for students and would like to show our appreciation by inviting you to lunch. At 1:00 please move to the lobby of NESPAL for lunch. Your name tag is your lunch ticket and must be presented to the caterer in order to receive lunch Also, please watch for refreshments circulating while you are presenting. This event is only possible through your willingness to participate, and we greatly appreciate it!! Please call or e-mail if you have questions.
